“游戏是孩子的语言；玩具是孩子的文字”。游戏治疗的主要目的是帮助有情绪困扰的孩子。很多时候，通过游戏与艺术为媒介引导孩子发泄情绪是最好的方法。游戏治疗也可以和有特殊需求的孩子们进行。 “Play is children language and toys are their words”. Therapeutic play's main objective is to improve the emotional wellbeing of a child. It accomplishes this through the use of play and/or creative arts. Therapeutic play may be used to treat or assist in alleviating a mild, one off emotional or psychological problem that is preventing a child from functioning normally. Therapeutic play may also be used as a method to detect more serious problems that may be dealt with by referring the child to a play therapist, child psychotherapist or other mental health specialist.
